WWI Signed Letter From Gen. John J. Pershing; Written In France 1918
Wonderful letter from General John J. "Blackjack" Pershing to his Aunt Annie. Written six months after his arrival in France as commander of the American Expeditionary Force on the Western Front. In it, he thanks his Aunt for the gifts she had sent, and poignantly adds a hand-written postscript: "Wonder if next Christmas will find us all this far apart."
Typed on American Expeditionary Forces stationery, it is in excellent clean condition, with a single horizontal fold mark through the center. No stains or damage. It is attached to the mat board with a single band of linen tape. The sheet size is 6" x 7.25".
