    Beautiful fold-out historical map of the Holy Land, produced by the Cartographic Division of the National Geographic Society.
    This handsome map is lithographed in full color on two sides and opens to a generous 31" x 20½".
    It depicts the ancient sites of the Middle East held sacred by Jews, Christians, and Muslims, and is thoroughly annotated with informative background details and illustrations.
    One side of the map covers the area from the Gaza strip to Amman, Jordan and north to Beirut, Lebanon on a scale of 1:405,500.
    Among the named places and features are Damascus, Syria, the Dead Sea, Israel, Tel Aviv, Haifa, the West Bank, Jerusalem, Sea of Galilee, Golan Heights, Nablus, Bethlehem, Mount Hermon, Nazareth, Valley of Jezerel, and many more.
    The other side features a series of historical maps showing boundary changes in this crossroads of empires, a bird's-eye-view of Jerusalem and two maps of the city, one extending to the surrounding regions and one focusing on the center of this ancient holy city.
