Description
c1860s Beautiful Victorian 14k Gold Coral Pin / BroochPresented is a beautiful Victorian 14 karat gold and coral pin or brooch. This
piece dates to around the 1850s-1870s, and is likely of American make, though it
could be Italian. The pin is done in the form of four interlocked loops, in an
interesting three-dimensional design, with a teardrop shaped dangle underneath.
The loops are all set with round pieces of lovely salmon-pink coral, drilled and
strung on wire. The teardrop dangle is also set with drilled and strung coral,
graduated in size from the top of the teardrop to the bottom. The pin has a
lever catch style safety clasp.
This piece is in great condition. The coral is all in good shape, with no
chips. The clasp has been replaced, and is a more modern style, from around the
first quarter of the 1900s. The clasp functions well and closes securely.
This piece is stamped and guaranteed 14 karat gold.
This piece measures about 1 1/2 by 2 1/8 inches.
This piece weighs 10.8 grams.
