Description
This wonderful pediment was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian home.
It was originally above an interior door.
It is made of chestnut and is painted.
It has a crown molding at the top with large egg and dart molding.
Across the breast there are repeating applied festoons of bellflowers.
There is a decorative molding along the bottom.
It is all original, the carvings and moldings were not later additions.
It measures 81.5 inches wide, 12.75 tall and 3.25 deep.
Overall it is in good condition.  There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. A small piece of the egg and dart is missing. There is a light crack at the left side. It could use a good cleaning.

My salvage business was born of necessity in 1993 when I started restoring an old Victorian home that had seen better days. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition. I found and purchased all of the things that I needed for my project and lots of extra treasures which I eventually resold. 17 years later this is still my full time job!
