    Description

    For your consideration this lovely late 19th century 14K Gold Victorian Swiss Enamel Goddess Portrait Rose Cut Diamond Brooch Pin. In typical classical design, inset with a black enamel pattern, the center oval enameled panel depicts the seated figure of Ceres (goddess of harvest and plenty). The figure is inset with rose diamond belt and torch in her hand. Brooch probably originates in Switzerland and dates from the 1880 period, but could be a little later as these items were fashionable up to 1914. The back of the brooch has a glass lens.
